Duaa For Sahree & Iftaar

Niyyat (Intention) of fasting at Sehri

The Niyyat (intention) of fasting is necessary. If a person stays away from all those things that break one's fast without a Niyyat, the fast will not be valid. It is not necessary to express the Niyyat verbally as Niyyat means to intend. Thus, the intention at heart will suffice. However, it is better to express.

Invocation at Iftar (Breaking of fast on Sunset)

Muaz bin Zahrah reported that when the Prophet broke fast, he used to say: O Allah! for Thee I fasted, and over Thy provision I broke It." [Abu Dawud (Mishkat)]

Therefore, muslims break their fasts with the following invocation:

Dua Iftar

"O Allah! I have fasted for You, and I have relied on Your provision and I have broken fast by Your mercy, O Merciful"

Salat/Namaz/Prayer

Pray all prayers in a mosque (for muslim men) regularily.

Dua Taraweeh

Taraweeh is the name given to the prayer during the nights of Ramadan after Isha. Muslims listen to the Holy Quran during prayers. Taraweeh is not Fardh (Compulsory) but it is better to attend. There is short rest between every four Rakats, Muslims read the following Dua Taraweeh in these periods.

Dua Taraweeh

Quran Recitation

Recite the Holy Quran at least one time complete in Ramadan. The best time is to recite after Salat Fajr and Asr every day. Recite Sura Ya-Sin, As-Sajda, Mulk, Dukhan, last three Ayats of Sura Al-Bararah every night.

Extolling Allah

Extoll "Subhan Allah", "Al-Hamd-o-Lillah", "Allah-u-Akbar" 100 times each after every Prayer.

Istaghfar

Unlimited times say "Astaghfirullah" [O Allah! forgive me] during day and night with thinking of your sins that you have done.

Click here to read Duas (Supplications) , Dhikr (Remembrance of Allah), Istighfar & more during Ramadan.

Durood

At least 100 times read Durood Ibrahimi every day. Increase the number especially on Fridays.

Durood Ibrahimi

O Allah, send your Mercy on Muhammad and the followers of Muhammad as You did Mercy Ibrahim and his followers, for you are the Praised, the Glorious. O Allah, send Blessings on Muhammad and his followers as You have blessed Ibrahim and his followers, for You are the Praised, the Glorious

Nafl (Voluntary Prayers)

Pray as much you can do and on fridays pray Salat-Tasbeeh also.

Dua (Supplication)

Do not forget to supplicate Allah for yourself, for your loved ones and for Muslim Ummah after prayers and recitation of Quran. The supplications of our Prophet Muhammad (Sal-allahu-allehi-wasallam) are the best and complete, these supplications are available in the form of separate books in the Islamic bookstores, the best one is "Hissn Hasseen", kindy buy this fabulous book and select the supplications according to your need.

Sadaqah (Charity)

Help needy people with your money that Allah has given you. You can donate them in the form of cash, clothes, food etc. but your sole purpose should be the Happiness of Allah.

Behaviour

Your behaviour should be well with others. Do not anger and frown. Do not tell lie. Always smile. When we change our life routine in Ramadan, it is natural that we feel some disturbance but be patience, these are tests for which we are rewarded.

Health and Food

Do not take heavy food at Iftar. Break your fast with water and dates with some quantity of food items which you like but do not over eat. Drink a cup of milk every night with a multivitamin tablet if you feel weekness. Do not take burden, pray as much as you can bear. Last 10 days of Ramadan are most important, so if you fails to maintain your health in the first 20 days, you may miss the blessings of the golden nights.
