Niyyat (Intention) of fasting at Sehri
|
|
The Niyyat (intention)
of fasting is necessary. If a person stays away from all those things that
break one's fast without a Niyyat, the fast will not be valid. It is not
necessary to express the Niyyat verbally as Niyyat means to intend. Thus,
the intention at heart will suffice. However, it is better to express. |

Invocation at Iftar (Breaking of fast on Sunset)
|
|
Muaz bin Zahrah reported that when the Prophet broke fast,
he used to say: O Allah! for Thee I fasted, and over Thy provision I broke
It." [Abu Dawud (Mishkat)] |
|
Therefore, muslims break their fasts with the following
invocation: |
|

|
|
"O Allah! I have fasted for You, and I have relied on Your
provision and I have broken fast by Your mercy, O Merciful" |

There is short rest between every four Rakats, Muslims read the following
Dua Taraweeh in these periods. |

Help needy people with your money that Allah has
given you. You can donate them in the form of cash, clothes, food etc. but
your sole purpose should be the Happiness of Allah. |
Behaviour
|
|
Your behaviour should be well with others. Do not
anger and frown. Do not tell lie. Always smile. When we change our life
routine in Ramadan, it is natural that we feel some disturbance but be
patience, these are tests for which we are rewarded. |
Health and Food
|
|
Do not take heavy food at Iftar. Break your fast
with water and dates with some quantity of food items which you like but do
not over eat. Drink a cup of milk every night with a multivitamin tablet if
you feel weekness. Do not take burden, pray as much as you can bear. Last 10
days of Ramadan are most important, so if you fails to maintain your health
in the first 20 days, you may miss the blessings of the golden nights. |
